Pecan Hope Chest

Well here is the last installment of my trilogy to the Pecan Box Joint Cases… I think I have it out of my system now… But we’ll just have to give it time to be sure! This is the last of my Pecan from my pile so now I am off to find something new. This wood lent itself so well to the box joint that I couldn’t imagine doing this commission any other way…

The case is made of Pecan as said, and the box joint fingers are 3/4”. All the faces are book matched. It also has an Eastern Red Cedar bottom to give it that cedar chest appeal. It is finished with shellac and varnish.

The chest was commissioned as a wedding gift for a gentleman to his new bride.
